Share plans increase loyalty

2009-01-12

Employees who participate in share incentive plans (Sips) and sharesave schemes feel more loyal to their
employer than those who do not. According to HM Revenue & Customs’ Evaluation of Tax-Advantaged All-
Employee Share Schemes report, 82% of Sip and sharesave participants strongly agreed, or agreed, they felt
loyal to their organisation, compared with 70% of non-participants. Almost half (48%) of sharesave and 45% of
Sip participants said provision of the scheme encouraged them to stay with their current employer.
