TUI’s discount deal takes off with staff

2009-06-01

TUI Travel has launched a voluntary benefits scheme for the 16,000 employees in its UK and Ireland division.

Through the scheme, employees can access discounts and offers from more than 1,500 retailers online through a fully companybranded website, in-store and over the phone.

Dione Mathias, TUI Travel’s reward manager, said: “We wanted our voluntary benefits to fit neatly into our wider benefits programme, so the ability to fully brand and tailor the scheme was a decisive factor for us.

“Furthermore, the option to extend the scheme to our staff in Ireland was very attractive.”

The use of teaser campaigns, worksite posters and a feature in TUI’s internal magazine led to a successful launch at the beginning of May, with the Asperity-provided scheme achieving over 20% takeup within the first week.

The travel company plans to add further benefit options, such as a bikes-for-work scheme, later this year.
