BHSF Group Limited, the Birmingham-based not-for-profit healthcare insurer and employee benefits provider, has announced the appointment of Gary Cowdrill, Managing Director of Solihull-based Board Evaluation Limited, as a non-executive director.
A Chartered accountant and former Group Finance Director of the West Bromwich Building Society, Gary has had wide experience in the financial services industry over many years, covering areas including corporate finance, treasury and structured finance. Over a career spanning five decades, he has also worked on many acquisitions, disposals, new business initiatives and financing transactions.
As Managing Director of independent firm Board Evaluation Limited, Gary leads a team of advisors focused on helping organisations develop best practice among their Boards.
BHSF Group Chief Executive, Peter Maskell, explained why Gary’s appointment to its board is such a coup: “Gary will bring great strength to our board with his deep financial and accounting knowledge and his corporate governance experience. He will be a great support as we tackle our ambitious growth plans and also contend with an ever-tighter regulatory regime.”
Gary, who also sits on the Regional Committee of the Institute of Directors, added: “Established in 1873, BHSF has such an impressive heritage.
