Budget 2016: The government has committed to ensuring that the pensions industry designs, funds and launches a pensions dashboard by 2019.
The commitment, which was announced during the 2016 Budget, will enable individuals to view details of all of their retirement savings in one place.
Darren Philp, director of policy and market engagement at The People’s Pension, said: “The government has made a strong commitment today to make a pensions dashboard a reality by 2019. This is an important step.
“But we need a dashboard to be designed and run in the interests of the consumer. This means a strong leadership role for government and regulators is crucial. While the industry can play a significant role in the delivery of any dashboard, the government needs to set the right ownership, governance and funding frameworks to ensure it really delivers for savers.”
