Capital One has raised around £3,500 for charity by rewarding employees who got involved with volunteering and fitness activities.
The donations were made as part of the annual Sports Relief campaign, which took place between 23 and 25 March.
Capital One made donations on behalf of each employee that took part in a community project set up near its Nottingham head office to teach young people how to skate.
It also donated £3 for each employee who took part in exercise classes over a one-week period, and it donated £1 for each mile employees cycled on the office’s exercise bikes. The exercise classes and cycling challenges took place at the credit card provider’s onsite gym.
Jill Cunnison, benefits and operations manager, HR at Capital One, said: “It’s a win win. Employees are involved and engaged. They are also raising money for charity, and they are taking care of their health and wellbeing. We are encouraging people to be fit and active at work and do different things – it ticks all the different boxes.”
