Royal Mail HR shines

Royal Mail employees have been encouraged to take measures to reduce exposure in the summer heat. It has issued all of its 100,000 outdoor staff on postal rounds with advice to reduce the risk of UV damage.

While the government owned postal service does not offer free sunscreen to workers it does provide them with baseball caps to shade the sun. The Health & Safety Executive has recently issued a guidance paper encouraging employers to tell outdoor staff to keep their tops on and drink plenty of water.
