Nationwide Building Society has issued 35,000 staff with both online and paper total reward statements for the first time, and also refreshed the branding on its online benefits system to make it more contemporary and consistent with other benefits communications.
Nationwide introduced pay and benefits statement brochures in 2001 and switched to online statements in 2005. Now it has decided to offer staff both for the first time.
The functionality of the online statements is designed to be flexible and to include only benefits relevant to each staff member. Employees can access the statements from computers at work as well as at home. The brochures, as well as containing pay and benefits statements, also include articles and further information about pensions and benefits.
Rosemary Crabb, rewards analyst at Nationwide, said: “Our rewards agenda is about employee choice, and valuing and rewarding contribution. It’s important that people can easily access their pay and benefits information in a way that is meaningful to the individual.”
