Axa partnership to expand in Asian healthcare market

Axa PPP International and Axa Asia General Insurance have joined forces to boost Axa’s healthcare operations in Asia.

The partnership will enhance Axa’s product, service and distribution capability in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong and China, where Axa has a well-established presence in both the life and general insurance markets.

As a consequence of this development, Axa has created a new dedicated team based in Singapore, with seven new appointments.

Laurent Pochat-Cottilloux is appointed health managing director for Asia region, reporting to both Andrew Coombs, managing director Axa PPP International, and to Victor Kuk, chief executive officer Greater China and South East Asia. Pochat-Cottilloux joins Axa from Standard Life Healthcare where he was commercial director.

Stephen Ryan who has been leading Axa’s healthcare developments in Asia since 2009 will now report to Pochat-Cottilloux as strategy and marketing director.

Karen Kelly returns to Axa as customer service director for the region having been operations director for Chartis.

Roger Kelly takes up the role of sales director, having previously served as International business’ new business director.

Mark Fletcher, formerly Axa PPP Healthcare’s head of pricing, has been appointed underwriting director for the new team.

Winston Wong becomes business transformation director, building on his current involvement in the healthcare business in Asia.

Florence Lin becomes planning director, in addition to her existing role of head of health service for Hong Kong.
