Home and body cosmetics organisation Rituals Cosmetics has seen 62% of its 160 employees in the UK and Ireland log on to its employee engagement and reward platform in five weeks.

The platform, provided by Perkbox, launched on 23 April 2018. More than a third (39%) of employees logged in on its first operating day, and this has now increased to 62% after five weeks. To date, more than 300 perks have been redeemed.

The platform was implemented in part to help keep staff engaged and motivated while the organisation undergoes an expansion process, with six new stores due to open in September and October 2018. Rituals Cosmetics also aimed improve its organisational culture and to recognise the hard work of its employees, while focusing on their financial, emotional and physical wellbeing.

Employees are able to use a dedicated account on the online platform or the corresponding app to access a range of perks and benefits. This includes free mobile phone insurance, discounted gym membership, cinema tickets, an employee assistance programme (EAP) and food and drink discounts.

The new platform was launched to employees via the organisation’s internal app and through running two competitions. As cinema tickets and free Caffe Nero drinks are among the available perks, employees were asked to share their most meaningful Caffe Nero moment, and to share a photo of their cinema experience, via the Rituals Cosmetics internal communication app. The prize for both competitions was an Amazon voucher.

Penny Grivea (pictured), managing director at Rituals Cosmetics UK and Ireland, said: “At Rituals, our philosophy is to slow down and this is not something we only wish for our customers to do. Working together with Perkbox means that we also want our employees, or as we like to call them, heartbeats, to be able to slow down and enjoy the meaningful moments in life and to truly turn those everyday routines into meaningful rituals.”
