Marmalade helps young drivers out of a sticky situation

Not Marmalade the cat or the breakfast preserve but motoring benefit provider: Marmalade, based in Huntingdon, has developed a combined car purchase and insurance scheme that will appeal to 18 – 23 year old drivers and their parents, who often have to underwrite the bill.
Marmalade covers the cost of the first 12 months of a basic comprehensive insurance policy with a difference. Using black box technology, the insurance company calculates mileage and the time of day these miles were travelled. The insurance premium reflects the time of day travelled, as statistically most accidents occur between 11pm and 6am.
