Employee Benefits Awards 2013: Best employee share schemes

By Debbie Lovewell-Tuck 5th June 2013 12:00 am 6th April 2017 3:39 pm

Winner: Home Retail Group

Scheme: Save As You Earn 2013

This award recognises a successful strategy that has made HM Revenue and Customs-approved share schemes an effective benefit within an organisation.

Home Retail Group’s employee share scheme strategy is simple but highly effective within the organisation. It is obvious the retail group clearly understand its workforce by the measures it has taken to engage employees with the scheme.

The judges were impressed by the organisation’s willingness to listen to staff feedback and act on this accordingly.

The judges said: “This group felt it had a tool that could be used to meet business needs. [Its approach] is clearly articulated.”

The winner said: “We have a diverse workforce and have tried to speak the language of all employees.”
Amber Garner, benefits team leader, Home Retail Group
