News update – Bookie beefs up benefits

William Hill is finalising a new voluntary benefits package that will offer its 14,000 UK staff a range of discounts. The move follows last year’s acquisition of more than 600 betting shops from rival Stanley Leisure, adding to William Hill’s existing retail portfolio of 1,600 shops. The package has been developed in partnership with AIG Insurers and Team Rewards.

William Hill human resources manager Lisa O’Reilly said the package will include discounts on dental plans, restaurants and high-street retailers such as Halfords. "These benefits will be meaningful because they can be used on a weekly basis, unlike benefits such as discount car insurance, which are only used periodically," she added.

Initially the package will only be available in the UK, but a voluntary benefits package is being developed for William Hill’s employees in the Republic of Ireland.
