Linklaters wins Lawyer HR award for benefits package

Law firm Linklaters has won the award for ‘Most effective employee benefits scheme’ at this year’s Lawyer HR awards, which took place last night.

The law firm, which employs a 2,500-strong workforce, has made a number of changes to its benefits package in the past year. These include the introduction of new terms group personal pension (GPP) plan, comprising auto-enrolment, a new contribution structure and a salary sacrifice arrangement around pension contributions.

New staff will be automatically enrolled into the pension scheme under the revised contribution structure, with an opt-out period of 30 days from the date they join the firm. This move came well ahead of government reforms, which will require all organisations to auto-enrol staff into a qualifying pension scheme from October 2012.
