Following the article Employers will communicate auto-enrolment face to face, we agree this works best, but it is expensive and not always practical, especially for employers with a transient workforce or where there is no experience of pensions.
As providers, we can, and should, help by giving employers a variety of methods to communicate with staff.
For example, we provide an employer toolkit that includes bespoke posters and a short animation explaining the basics about auto-enrolment, using simple, engaging everyday language. Some of our customers have a significant proportion of their workforce (up to 30%) where English is not the first language.
To help with this challenge, we have translated key pages of our website into 55 languages using human, rather than machine, translators.
Auto-enrolment can be confusing enough, let alone if English is not your first language.
