EXCLUSIVE: Metropolitan Police to discuss workforce planning at Employee Benefits Connect 2017

EXCLUSIVE: Adam Gibson, strategic workforce planning leader at the Metropolitan Police, will examine how people analytics and workforce planning can enable organisations to make smarter strategic decisions at Employee Benefits Connect 2017.

Gibson (pictured) will lead a session titled ‘Leveraging workforce planning and people analytics for smarter decisions’ as part of the talent management conference stream on Wednesday 1 March 2017.

Gibson will discuss the role of people analytics and workforce planning in driving a strategic HR approach that can support and influence various aspects of the business.

Gibson said: “The [session] is really around [people analytics and workforce planning] being a game changer in how we do business, operationally and within HR.

“If you apply it right, workforce planning and the use of people analytics will drive every part of strategic HR and often other parts of the business, and it can all come from that basis of what are people doing. It’s important because, typically, the bulk of organisational spend and organisational effort is on people.”

In addition, Gibson will highlight how organisations can harness workforce planning and people analytics to develop a holistic people strategy that reflects the future world of work, including greater inclusivity of both people and ideas.

Gibson added: “The more organisations are able to start doing that planning now, then the greater protection they are going to be offered for the future and the more rapidly [organisations] are going to be able to flex depending on the [main] trends that are out there.”

Employee Benefits Connect 2017 will take place on Wednesday 1 March 2017 at Park Plaza, London.
