Peugeot Citroen harmonises car scheme

EXCLUSIVE: The PSA Peugeot Citroen Group has harmonised its car scheme so that employees from both its Peugeot and Citroen brands are offered the same number of cars.

Previously, Peugeot offered staff at least one leased car as part of its benefits package, while Citroen offered employees up to six cars, depending on grade.

The harmonised scheme offers employees up to two leased cars a year, and managers up to four. Staff can change cars every 12 months or after 9,000 miles.

Stephanie Palmer, head of reward, relations and development at the PSA Peugeot Citroen Group, said: “The company sells [an employee] a car and agrees to buy it back at the end of the year for what it would be worth as a leased car at that period.

“Employees pay the loan difference on those two values over the 12 months.”

Peugeot and Citroen merged to form the PSA Peugeot Citroen Group in 1976. In 2012, Citroen’s Slough office was closed and 250 Citroen employees joined 2,500 Peugeot staff in Coventry.
