HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has launched a video guide to help introduce employers to the real-time information (RTI) programme, which comes into effect from April 2013.
The video looks at what RTI means for employers, the main changes that will be introduced, and a timetable for the programme.
The programme will require all employers to send HMRC information about employees’ pay and deductions before, or when, they run their payroll process, rather than at the end of the tax year.
Jane Brothwood, head of the stakeholder and communications team, RTI programme at HMRC, said: “It’s really important that employers are prepared for the introduction of RTI.
“The video that we have launched should help answer most questions and provide insight for our vision of bringing payroll into the 21st century.”

Great blog! Do you have any tips for aspiring writers? I’m planning to start my own website soon but I’m a little lost on everything. Would you recommend starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many choices out there that I’m totally confused .. Any recommendations? Cheers!
