BDO in quit-smoking push

BDO Stoy Hayward has launched a six-week long campaign to help employees stop smoking.

The initiative has been timed to coincide with World No Tobacco Day on 31 May, and ahead of the smoking ban coming into effect in England. Staff who wish to give up during the campaign can take advantage of 30-minute confidential clinic assessments at which they will receive individual advice and an information pack including a copy of Allen Carr’s Easy way to stop smoking. The charity Quit will provide further support.

BDO Stoy Hayward has pledged to match any sponsorship money up to the value of £500 raised by staff in their bid to kick the habit.

Andrea Pattico, HR manager, said: “We have an employee who has nominated themself to have the company follow their cessation journey over the next month in a smoke-free blog.”

The organisation’s intranet site will have a section dedicated to the campaign. Employees were informed of the launch by email.
