EXCLUSIVE: Consulting and technology organisation Capgemini UK is going to launch an online financial education programme for its 9,000 employees based across 14 operating sites in the UK.

The programme, provided by Nudge, will launch on Wednesday 27 June 2018, and aims to enhance the organisation’s overall wellbeing strategy. Capgemini UK currently supports staff with both their mental and physical wellbeing, and the new initiative has been planned to aid employees with their financial wellness, too.

The new online programme will give employees access to a personalised financial education platform, which is designed to help staff better manage their money and plan for their financial goals.

The programme will also send employees tailored notifications, or ‘nudges’. These are personalised tips sent to users when something relevant to them occurs. This could include, for example, information around legislative changes or fluctuating interest rates, details to help with life events such as moving home, or notifications around employee benefit changes.

The online financial education will also be integrated into Capgemini UK’s flexible benefits programme, called FlexChoices. This is to help guide employees to make benefits selections that suit their lifestyle and priorities, and to assist them in better managing their money.

The new programme is being communicated to employees using a series of roadshows held at key operating sites, including London, Woking, Worthing and Telford, as well as through a poster and email campaign and a desk-drop of postcards and chocolate coins.

Lindsay McDonald, employee benefits manager at Capgemini, said: “After carrying out a review of our reward strategy last year, it became clear that financial wellness was a missing element. Diversity is deeply ingrained in our culture and we look at every element of our reward offering with the lens of inclusivity. We want to ensure that we not only attract and recruit a diverse group of people, from apprentices to experienced professionals, but also that we provide all the support those individuals need once they are part of our team.

“We carried out extensive market research prior to deciding on our approach to delivering a financial wellness programme. For us, the key was providing a service that’s accessible whenever and wherever our people need it, which is highly personalised to their individual needs and which has the breadth of content to help our people, whatever their lifestyle.”
