Aligning benefits to business strategies biggest engagement driver

More than one-third (42%) of employers consider the difficulties of aligning employees’ needs and desires with their organisation’s business objectives to be the biggest threat to future employee engagement, according to Employee Benefits/Lorica 100 Club research 2014, published in June.

The next biggest threat is pay constraints, cited by 15% of the 52 employers that answered this question in the survey.

Just 6% of employers consider the difficulties of remaining a paternalistic employer in the face of a diminishing benefits budget as a threat to engagement, and just 4% cite technological development as a threat.

Meanwhile, 60% of respondents believe strategic thinking is the top HR and benefits professional attribute upon which future employee engagement depends most.
