Steve Delo has been elected as president of the Pensions Management Institute (PMI) for 2007/2008.
Delo has held the position of since 2005 after being elected to PMI council in 2001. Before 2001, he was chairman of the PMI’s London region. Delo is the managing director of Close Multi-Manager (formerly Close TEAMS) and a board director of Close Investments.
Delo will take over from Penny Green, the current president, at the PMI’s annual general meeting (AGM) on 12 July 2007.
"I have been involved with the PMI at various levels for my entire career, so the chance to lead our institute through the next phase of its growth and development is a great privilege and exciting challenge. I believe the PMI and its members have a huge part to play in the evolving pensions industry and my role is to catalyse and maximise the many opportunities out there," said Delo.
July’s AGM will also see Brian Critchell of Xafinity Paymaster becoming vice president and Neil Bolding of Mercer HR Consulting being appointed honorary treasurer. The PMI has two vice presidents, each elected for a two-year team,so Sue Applegarth of MPNA will remain as vice president for the second year of her term.
