Nationwide Building Society has extended its salary sacrifice scheme to its regional brands, with about 1,200 additional staff benefiting from the move.
For the first time, employees at Cheshire Building Society, Derbyshire Building Society and Dunfermline Building Society are able to participate in Nationwide’s youchoose scheme, which offers benefits such as childcare vouchers, retail vouchers and a bikes-for-work scheme.
Rosemary Crabb, flexible benefits manager at Nationwide Building Society, said: “We know from feedback from employees that it has been well received.
“It will give the [employees] working for our regional businesses the chance to access a full range of benefits.”
The enrolment period for the scheme took place between October and November, with employees’ selections taking effect in January.
Holiday purchase and pension additional voluntary contributions (AVCs) were among the most popular benefits taken up by this group of employees, said Crabb.
Nationwide expects to roll out online payslips and annual pay and benefits statements to its regional employees during the coming year.
