Taylor Wessing has written to 20 of its competitors encouraging them to become involved with payroll giving.
The law firm sent the letters from director of human resources, Jonathan Croucher, to outline the advantages of payroll giving, and urge other firms to either introduce a scheme or promote the concept for the benefit of UK charities. †It did so at the request of its scheme provider Workplace Giving UK as part of its work around the twentieth anniversary of the perk.
Clare Casey, payroll and benefits manager at Taylor Wessing, said: “Every year Workplace Giving UK come in and promote the scheme. It was at their request that we sent the letters.”
It also offered employees the opportunity to take part in a 1987 retro quiz competition, run by the provider, which offered a £500 donation to the winner’s chosen charity.
The law firm has offered a payroll giving scheme for approximately six years, which has a 27% employee take up.
