Arcadia Group, Asos, the BBC, John Lewis Partnership, and Virgin are among the organisations that have been recognised on the Top Companies 2017 list for the UK, compiled by LinkedIn.
The list recognises employers that employees want to work for, and is based on analysis of the actions taken by LinkedIn members between February 2016 and February 2017 in relation to organisations with over 500 employees. It takes into consideration views and applications for job postings, engagement between employees and with the organisation directly, and staff retention. Analysis of these key areas was used to produce a blended score to rank organisations.
The UK list spans 12 different industries, including retail organisations such as Harrods and Sainsbury’s, as well as professional services firms such as PWC UK, Deloitte UK, and KPMG UK.
US-organisations that are ranked in a separate country-orientated list using the same methodology include Alphabet, Amazon, Facebook, Salesforce, and Uber.
The top 10 organisations that feature on the UK’s Top Companies 2017 list are:
- John Lewis Partnership
- Arcadia Group
- Liberty Global
Catherine Ward, group HR director at Interserve, which ranks in 22nd place on the UK list, said: “We’re delighted to have been ranked in LinkedIn’s list of the UK’s top 25 most sought-after employers for the second year running. Interserve’s continued presence on this prestigious list highlights the fact that we are [an organisation] that: makes a difference; cares about its people, customers and the communities in which we work; helps our people and customers thrive; delivers long-term success.”
