National Express has improved its parental policies in a bid to offer more than the statutory level of leave to its employees.
Male staff can now take two weeks paternity leave on full pay, and adopting parents can take a maximum of 52 weeks leave with statutory adoption pay.
The transport company has also extended employees’ eligibility to take 13 weeks of unpaid time off work as parental leave to all staff with children aged up to 18 years. Parental leave was previously only available to those with children aged five years or under, or who are disabled and under 18 years.
Staff will now also be able to use a day at a time when, previously, they were forced to take a week’s entitlement, even if they did not use it all.
This is not correct as I have just enquired about this with national express thinking I get two weeks paternity full pay. It is standard government pay £138 a week
