Denton Wilde Sapte revamps flexible benefits provision

International law firm, Denton Wilde Sapte (DWS), has revamped its flexible benefits provision in a bid to improve usability for employees and introduce ‘green’ benefits.

The firm has added new ‘green’ benefits such as bikes for work and carbon offsetting to its flex offering, in addition to updating the company-branded website detailing the flexible benefits on offer.

Changes to the DWS’s flex scheme, known as Select, were rolled out to the firm’s 800 UK employees in October, building on the existing scheme which has been in place since 2003. Employees were informed of the recent changes by email, a story in the monthly internal newsletter and new ‘How to enrol’ guides.

Staff are able to access the site with a personal PIN, and can submit their choices on-line. There are 14 benefits in total, coming under the headings of security, health and wellbeing and lifestyle.

The perks range from those that are provided and paid for by DWS such as income protection and private medical cover, to salary sacrifice schemes such as buying or selling holiday, dental insurance, childcare vouchers and the new ‘green’ benefits.

Nicki Farrant, HR manager at DWS, said: “Take up for new benefits is encouraging. Feedback so far is that employees are pleased with the new design and ease of use of the new website. It is essential that DWS is competitive in the market place so we can attract and retain good calibre staff, both fee-earners and support. We also want to offer a good mix of benefits and we are aware that a standard benefits package does not always fit across different age ranges and grade of staff.”

The flexible benefits scheme was provided by benefits technology provider Vebnet.
