Kier relaunches voluntary plan and promotes perks

Kier Group has relaunched its voluntary benefits scheme, while running benefits and pensions surgeries to boost employees’ engagement with their perks.

The construction firm sent a 20-page benefits booklet to employees’ home addresses, containing details of all the discounts and offers available to them. These include childcare vouchers, discounts on insurance products and fixed discounts at retail outlets including John Lewis and B&Q stores.

Frank Maybin, group total rewards manager at Kier Group, said the objective was to remind the firm’s 10,000 employees of the voluntary benefits that have been available to them since the scheme was launched two years ago.

He said: “In the current economic climate, there is an opportunity for our employees to make savings.”

Kier Group has held 30 benefits and pensions surgeries around the UK, allowing employees to find out more about the perks they are entitled to.

The company operates a defined benefits pension scheme that is closed to new entrants and a defined contribution scheme for other employees.
