Beaverbrooks, Whitbread and Aviva awarded for payroll giving excellence

Leading employers, including Beaverbrooks, Whitbread and Aviva, have been recognised for their payroll giving schemes at this year’s Payroll Giving Excellence Awards.

At the third annual event, held at HM Treasury on 5 October, jewellery retailer Beaverbrooks won the award for Best launch of a new scheme, as well as the overall prize for the Most successful payroll giving promotion.

When it launched its payroll giving scheme in March 2008 with provider Workplace Giving UK, the firm aimed to achieve 10% take-up among its disparate workforce. Within the first eight months following the launch it had exceeded this target, achieving 25% take-up.

Other winners included: Whitbread, which was awarded Best innovative promotional partnership for its work with provider Payroll Giving in Action; Thinkmoneypayroll for Best relaunch of an existing scheme; and Aviva for Best large employer campaign.

In addition, marketing agency Haygarth was judged Best SME campaign, The British Heart Foundation won the award for the Best third sector employer campaign; and The London Borough of Islington was recognised for the Best public sector employer campaign.
