Siemens is utilising its benefits package as a recruitment tool, and is launching total reward statements.
The engineering and technology firm is developing materials for line managers and recruiters to use when talking to prospective employees at various stages of the recruitment process.
The information will cover all the benefits offered, including share plans, flexible benefits, voluntary benefits and company cars, as well as non-cash benefits such as flexible working and career progression opportunities.
Karen Gaynor, Siemens’ head of compensation and benefits, UK and North West Europe, said: “We want to make sure people who are interested in working for us find something of interest to them.”
Siemens is also launching total reward statements to give its 17,000 staff greater understanding of its benefits. It currently issues a benefits statement, but will launch comprehensive total reward statements in early 2011. It will begin informing staff about these during its flexible benefits enrolment period in November.
Gaynor said: “One of the things we want to improve is making the benefits mix we have already more transparent.”
