Herbert Smith offer workshops for staff to help them improve their kids’ writing skills

Herbert Smith has run an in-house parent support workshop for staff, focusing on helping employees to encourage their children to develop their writing skills.

The sessions were run by Ready To Learn, and involved an ex-teacher visiting the office and explaining to parents how children are taught to write at school and how to help their children at home.

Carolyn Lee, head of diversity and inclusion at Herbert Smith, explained: “We ran the writing sessions to coincide with the summer holidays.”

The workshop is part of a much wider work-life balance programme that the law firm is running, which includes sessions on healthy eating, dealing with stress, reading with children, and also eldercare.
