Friends Provident launches absence tracking system

Friends Provident has launched a new absence tracking system that aims to help employers monitor absence trends and calculate the cost of employee absence.

The system evaluates absence by department, reason and days of the week, and includes a cost of absence calculator.

It can work alongside an employer’s existing absence management arrangement and can be customised to suit their individual needs.

The system is the latest enhancement to Friends Provident’s recently launched employer assistance programme, which is provided by Workplace Options.

Declan White, group risk marketing manager, said: “It is no secret long-term absenteeism is both a growing concern and cost to today’s employers.

“This new tracker tool will be of tremendous value in helping employers understand top causes of absence within their business and the costs associated with them.

“The flexible nature of the tool allows companies to share information with manager and employees to ensure a better all round understanding of the absenteeism.

“This will ultimately help foster a greater appreciation of how absenteeism impacts the commercial edge of the business.”
