Most people welcome a health screening benefit provided by their employers to help them stay fit and healthy, but when Bali needed a health check it took eight people to get her along to it.
Of course, since Bali is a 23-foot reticulated python living at Chester Zoo, she may well not have understood that the health check-up was for her own good. The check involved two cardiovascular experts using an ultrascan to check Bali’s heart.
Bali is believed to be the biggest snake in Europe.
The Chester Zoo vets also carried out a health check on the zoo’s other python, J, who measures a slightly more manageable 15 feet in length.
