Lovewell’s logic: Anyone for table tennis?

At certain times of the year, I like to stop and take stock.

Employee Benefits Live always seems like a good opportunity for this. Although the two days are aimed at catching up on the latest trends, as well as looking forward at those appearing on the horizon, it always feels like an appropriate time to look back and reflect on how far we have come in the past 12 months.

In some respects, we’ve come a long way since last year’s show. Then, the focus for many of you in reward and benefits was on redesigning the employee value proposition to meet the demands of an increasingly mobile workforce.

A year later, it feels like we have moved on a step, with many businesses now looking at what they can do to become known as a destination employer.

In part, this is also being driven by the need to ensure that the employment proposition on offer is suitable to attract, engage and retain the workforce of the future, particularly when it comes to appealing to the multiple generations now in the workplace.

Some of the organisations we have seen taking the lead on this have implemented some wonderfully creative elements into their workplace. For the first time, we’ve incorporated some of these into Employee Benefits Live: so, if you fancy taking a break from conference sessions, meeting exhibitors and networking, you’ll be able to stop for a game of table tennis, foosball, try out a treadmill desk or even have a massage!

But one of the things I love most about the two days is the opportunity to step out from behind my desk and spend time speaking to, and catching up with, so many of you.

I look forward to seeing you there. And if you fancy a game of table tennis, I’m very happy to be challenged!
