John Lewis Partnership to launch free legal advice for staff

The John Lewis Partnership is to introduce free access to telephone legal advice for employees, following a benchmarking exercise and successful six-month long pilot last year.

The retail firm trialled the perk across three John Lewis stores and three Waitrose branches last summer, and received take up of just under 10%.

Adam Brooke, manager of Partner Choice, explained: “We wanted to see what the reaction would be like from partners, and we were very happy with the take up.”

The scheme, which is being introduced in April,†will also be available to employees’ partners and children under 21 years of age

The benefit is being communicated to staff this month, after its launch was approved by the retailer’s Partnership Council, which is made up of 87 employees.

The scheme is provided by Law Express.
