Long-service awards fit for a Queen

Long-service awards are nearly always welcomed by employees and are a nice way for employers to show their appreciation for staff loyalty.

Most often these gifts come in the form of gift vouchers or perhaps a watch, so there are few employees who would expect a llama waiting for them after years of service.

Unlike the Queen, who received a baby llama, a dog bed in the shape of a crown and a knitted tea cosy of herself with her corgis among a whole host of gifts to celebrate her Diamond Jubilee in 2012.

These gifts might not be quite what employees would expect when they reach workplace milestones, but there are few who would turn down a long-service gift of the precious stones, 60 pieces of onyx and silver jewellery, and a Tiffany and Co silver compact Her Majesty also received to mark 60 years on the throne.

Although, there are probably not many employers that could stretch the budget to precious stones, as well as a cake for the occasion.
