Medway Community Healthcare introduces occupational health services

Medway Community Healthcare has revealed plans to offer its staff a range of occupational health services.

The social enterprise, which works to help and improve local communities, will provide employees across the organisation with pre-employment health assessments, referral assessments and management, and vaccination and immunity testing.

The services will be provided by Cantium Business Solutions, a specialist supplier of HR, IT, and finance solutions, as part of an initial two-year deal.

The partnership will see Cantium’s occupational health team carry out assessments for both new and existing employees. They will then provide access to personalised and specialist advice in order to assist Medway Community Healthcare in managing both short and long-term absences, as well as delivering relevant support for the specific healthcare needs of employees.

The service will be delivered through a range of channels, including face-to-face clinics for vaccinations and telephone consultations, as well as phone and email advice. Cantium will use its occupational health platform to collect staff information and process online pre-employment screenings.

Ross Miller, head of workplace wellbeing services at Cantium, added: “Medway Community Healthcare takes the health and wellbeing of its staff seriously and is constantly looking at ways in which it can improve the working lives of employees, reducing stress levels and improving their work-life balance.”

He added: “The services from Cantium will enable Medway Community Healthcare to continue to offer high-quality occupational health services to employees, helping them to meet the challenges of the workplace and be happy and fulfilled in what they do.”
