Reward Management, which is published by Kogan Page, is a practical guide to understanding and implementing effective reward strategies in an organisation.

It outlines how benefits practitioners can align their approach to reward management to their organisation’s strategic objectives.

The first part of the book (chapters one to seven) covers the fundamentals of reward management, reward strategy and how to develop this, as well as focusing on communicating reward and tax issues.

The second part (chapters eight to 13) looks at reward in practice and covers all elements of reward from pay grades and structures to long-term incentive plans, and recognition and non-cash reward.

The book uses a combination of hands-on tools, scenarios and case studies to help build readers’ knowledge of reward and benefits.

Rose said: “I have tried to achieve the right balance between theory and practice. My approach to reward management is fundamentally pragmatic, we need to get things right in the situations we find.

“But, I also strongly believe in the importance of getting the strategy right, drawing, where relevant, from theories and research.

“While I cannot hope to make the reader into a reward expert just by reading this book, I have shared my views on what I see as important in reward management.”
