Occupational health

Occupational health is the promotion and maintenance of physical and mental wellbeing of employees. This is reinforced by the Health and Safety Executive which concentrates on the provision of a safe and healthy workplace where the welfare of staff is a major factor. Some employers run occupational health departments staffed with medical professionals on hand to treat, advise and/or educate staff. Other employers use a range of externally provided services and health insurances as part of an occupational health strategy.
