Reassured appoints first chief people officer

Life insurance broker Reassured has appointed Mareena Flint as its first chief people officer.

The Hampshire firm said the former Everyday Loans Group HR director would strengthen its executive team “in line with strategic business objectives”.

Flint spent five years at Everyday Loans, with the first half of her stint there as head of HR during a period when employee numbers more than doubled. She then stepped up to a director role and took responsibility for the lender’s people strategy.

Prior to this Flint held HR roles with Provident Financial Group and Prudential Assurance as well as with consumer goods companies Adelie Food and Iceland. She has spent a total of 17 years in the profession.

Reassured said she would work with its board to ensure the firm continues to prioritise and support its people. Duties will include building a strategy for attracting and retaining the best talent as the organisation targets further expansion.

Laura Benton, chief operating officer at Reassured, said: “Mareena has a commendable track record in leading people and HR teams within the financial services sector.

“We have always been committed to making Reassured a fantastic place to work, and making our people our first priority is at the very core of our strategy to attract and retain the best talent.

“We’re looking forward to seeing the impact Mareena’s vast experience and knowledge of people management has on the business as we continue our plans to support the development and overall wellbeing of our staff.”

Flint said she was “delighted” to be Reassured’s first chief people officer.

“Any business is dependent on its people for success and this is something that Reassured has always believed in, which is what drew me to the business,” she said.

“This is an exciting opportunity to drive the business’s commitment to creating a truly inclusive work culture in which employees feel valued and supported.”
