SGS United Kingdom, an inspection, verification, testing and certification company, has launched a recognition-of-service programme to thank employees that have been with the organisation for five years or more.

In partnership with Lifestyle voucher rewards SGS’s aim for its new award scheme is to show appreciation to all of its workforce who have demonstrated long-term dedication to their role within the company.

Melanie Naylor, principal HR business partner at SGS, said: “In the past six years we have acquired 11 companies, which has meant much of our focus has been making sure the new employees are integrated into the company as smoothly and successfully as possible. It’s now time we thanked everyone who has stayed committed to SGS throughout this process and celebrate these achievements.”

SGS is rewarding employees who have been with the company from five to 20 years with a Lifestyle Voucher. The voucher value will reflect the amount of years the employee has been with the company, for example a five-year service will receive a £50 gift-card and 20 years will receive £500.

Naylor added: “We have more than 40 different sites across the UK, our workforce spans many generations, and some of our employees’ jobs do not involve being in an office; due to these elements it was vital we found a reward solution that would be right for everyone. We found Lifestyle was the perfect solution for us as not only can the gift-card be accessed and used online, but the variety of places employees can spend their award, such as in high-street stores, restaurants and on holidays, was so broad that we knew there would be somewhere every member of staff would enjoy spending their reward.”

SGS will be communicating its long service programme to employees through email messages and posts on its company blog.

Bill Alexander, CEO at Red Letter Days For Business, said: “Saying thank you is a very powerful tool to maintain engagement and drive within a workforce. Our latest Employee motivation report shows that two-fifths of employees felt valued when they received a reward and a quarter felt motivated. We’re thrilled to partner SGS on its long service awards and be part of congratulating its employees for their successes. Lifestyle enables people to choose their own prize, which not only makes it meaningful, but will continue to remind them of their achievement.”
