What’s the real cost of cancer in the workplace?

One in two people born after 1960 will be diagnosed with cancer. Is your workplace prepared for the impact? And how can you mitigate the cost?

Advances in medicine, better diagnostics, more effective interventions and improved survival rates; we’ve come a long way in the fight against cancer. However, there’s a considerable cost associated with these successes, much of which may become an unsustainable burden on employers.

Recent research also suggests that 70–90% of cancers are caused by environmental and lifestyle factors, so an opportunity exists to assist prevention with relevant workplace wellbeing programmes.

On Thursday 25 February, we offer you the opportunity to meet one of the nation’s leading cancer specialists, Mark Harries, who will share with you a fascinating insight into the world of advanced diagnostics and treatment techniques of cancer. We’ll also hear from one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies regarding the latest developments in drug therapies. Finally, we’ll be exploring alternative funding models and workplace wellbeing strategies to mitigate the impact of cancer on your organisation, and looking at how you can both minimise the risks of cancer in your workforce, and better support your employees touched by this disease.
